Women newly diagnosed with cancer will get specialist treatment at a Ladies Day drop-in event at Wythenshawe Hospital organised by Macmillan on June 20th.
The 'drop-in' event at the Education & Research Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital is aimed at helping women who have been newly diagnosed with any cancer or those that are receiving or have completed any cancer treatment.
A host of experts, including clinical nurse specialists, will be at the session to answer questions related to cancer, its treatment and peripheral aspects of care. Some of the issues being covered include benefits and job advice, nutrition, exercise, hair and nail care, wigs and specific cancer needs.
The charity 'Look Good, Feel Better' and Boots the Chemist who will be giving free pampering sessions and advice on issues such as camouflaging scars.
Debbie Smith, Centre Manager says: "Cancer is something too many of us have to deal with and it's always useful to be given an opportunity to learn more about the disease and to meet other people who are dealing with similar issues as you. This drop-in session will really provide women with a fantastic chance to learn more and to enjoy a bit of pampering!"
