Sisters attacked in their Northenden home

September 16 2011
Two sisters were threatened after a couple forced their way into their home
in Northenden.

At about 8.40pm on Wednesday 14 September 2011, a couple called at a house
on Allanson Road and threatened two women, aged 57 and 64, and demanded car keys.

One woman was grabbed by the neck and the other grabbed and pushed against a wall. The couple then escaped empty handed and the sisters were left shaken and with minor injuries.

The woman attacker is described as white, 25 years old, 5ft 5in tall, of plump build, with black bobbed hair. The man is described as white, 25 years old, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with a gaunt, unshaven face.

Detective Sergeant Dave Ramsdale, said: "This appears to be a desperate
attempt by the pair to steal from the two women.

"While nothing was stolen the victims are clearly upset by what has
happened and I would encourage any local residents with any information
about those responsible to call us so we can prevent them from targeting
anyone else in the community."

Anyone with information is asked to call 0161 856 6090 or Crimestoppers,
anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
