Altrincham FA Senior Cup
Broadheath Central 1 – 2 Wythenshawe Town
Wythenshawe Town have secured their second trophy in what has been an amazing season so far for the Cheshire League 2 side.
Wythenshawe beat a plucky Broadheath Central 2-1 in what was a close fought final at Altrincham FC’s Moss Lane ground.
Ben Brooks was on song again. scoring both goals either side of half time, firing low into the far corner for the first and outrunning the Broadheath defence before sliding the ball past the keeper for the second.
Broadheath pulled one back to keep the contest interesting, but nothing was stopping Town from winning the second of what could prove to be a hatfull of trophies this season.
Having already won the league title and secured promotion, the Wythenshawe side’s season is far from over. They meet Failsworth Dynamos in the final of the Manchester FA Amateur Cup next Tuesday (May 5th) and are in the semi-final of the JA Walton Challenge Cup.
