Police appeal for help to trace wanted man

Grant LeighPolice are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man from Hyde, with links to Wythenshawe.

Grant Leigh, aged 27, is wanted in connection with an arson that took place on Clayton Street in Dukinfield on 25 December 2017. He is also wanted on recall to prison after breaching the terms of his license set when he was released in July 2018.

Leigh is known to have links to the Tameside, Oldham and Wythenshawe areas of Greater Manchester.

Police say he is aware that he is wanted by police and is actively evading arrest. Anybody who is found to be assisting Leigh in his efforts to avoid being found will face prosecution.

Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Grant Leigh is asked to contact police on 0161 856 9353 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Arsonist jailed for Wythenshawe Hall “mindless attack”

Jeremy TaylorA Baguley man who caused millions of pounds worth of damage to historic Wythenshawe Hall in an arson attack has been jailed.
Jeremy Taylor, aged 28, of Hall Lane, Baguley was sentenced today to four-and-half-years after setting fire to the Grade II list building last March

He previously pleaded guilty to arson.

Police appeal for information as they confirm the Wythenshawe Hall fire was arson

Police investigating the cause of the Wythenshawe Hall fire have confirmed it was started deliberately and have appealed to the public for help to find the culprits.

Defiant Firbank landlord to reopen tonight after arsonists hit pubs in Newall Green and Baguley

The bosses of  two Wythenshawe pubs which suffered arson attacks within half an hour of each other have thanked locals for their support.

The Firbank in Newall Green and the Black Boy in Baguley were hit by arsonists in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police hunt arsonist who targeted home in Baguley

An investigation is underway to trace an arsonist who set fire the door of a house in Baguley at the weekend.
