FOOTBALL: Amateurs see red but manage to pick up a point

Wythenshawe Town  1 – 2  AVRO

Wythenshawe Amateurs managed to salvage a point despite having three players sent off in a hard-fought encounter with Manchester Gregorians.

Matt Newell proved proved to be a wise substitution and got the goal for for Amateurs in the 80th minute.

Red cards were shown to Ashley Morley, Chris Howard and Mark Hughes but the Ammies put up a spirited fight to earn the point.

But Wythenshawe Town continued the poor form in the league with a  2-1 defeat at home to AVRO.

FOOTBALL: Amateurs move into top five while Town lose again

Wythenshawe Amateurs 3 – 2 AVRO

East Manchester  1-0  Wythenshawe Town

Wythenshawe Amateurs have continued their good run of form with a victory over AVRO to move into fifth place in Premier League.

And with a game in hand over the teams above them, Amateurs will fancy their chances of making further progress.

But Wythenshawe Town continue to be rooted to the foot of the league with a 1-0 defeat away to East Manchester

There will be a welcome break from the league for Town next weekend as they face Newton in the MFA Challenge Trophy when they will be hoping to kick-start their season.
