The Firbank pub in Newall Green is open for business again today after a shot was fired at a window last night (Thursday Jan 8).

A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car last night in Northenden.

Wythenshawe police are appealing for witnesses after a 36-year-old man was struck by a car in Benchill.
At around 6.45pm on Thursday 11 December 2014 a Ford Fiesta travelling along Greenwood Road , in the direction of Hollyhedge Road, was in collision with a 36-year-old man who was in the carriageway.
He suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police now want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
PC Philip Shaw, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A man has lost his life in tragic circumstances and our thoughts are with his family. We now want to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened in the run up to this collision.”

A Manchester man who accepted a parcel delivered to a Wythenshawe address from South American drugs cartel he believed was full of cocaine worth £100,000 has been jailed.
The parcel had been intercepted by Customs and Excise in South America and the drugs replaced with sugar before it was delivered to Promise Ezeh at Warmley Road in Wythenshawe.

Ramraiders drove a Landrover into a Co-op store in Brooklands, Wythenshawe before setting it on fire.
The incident happened in the early hours of this morning (October 30). Shortly after 1am police and other emergency services were called to the Co-op on Maple Road Brooklands, after reports that a green Landrover Discovery had been deliberately reversed into the shop front.
