Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of a man and woman in a house in Woodhouse Park.
Police were called shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday 12 November 2013 to reports that a man’s body had been found at a house on Saltdene Road in Woodhouse Park, Manchester.
Officers discovered the body of a 55-year-old man. The body of an 86-year-old woman was also found in the house.
A post mortem is due to take place and a police cordon is currently in place on Saltdene Road while officers investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin said: “At this time we are making initial enquiries into the death of this man and woman and a post mortem is yet to take place.
“The community will be understandably concerned therefore we do have extra patrols in the area to offer some reassurance.
“A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths is now underway.”
