Police name bodies found in Wythenshawe house

Olwen and StephenGreater Manchester Police have named two people found dead at a house in Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe, earlier this week.

The Manchester Evening News has reported a police source sayiing It is believed  Stephen Dohoney, aged 55, stabbed his 86-year-old mother Olwen to death before hanging himself.

Neighbours discovered the bodies at the home they shared at Saltdene Road Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe,  shortly before 12.30pm on Tuedsay.

Mrs Dohoney had reportedly been suffering from a number of ailments in recent years and her son was her carer.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, it is understood. Police have said family of the deceased have said they want to be left alone to grieve.
