Two more people have been arrested after a 25-year-old man was stabbed in Wythenshawe.

At around 3.20am on Saturday 2 May 2015, police were called by NWAS staff to an address on Chesham Avenue, Benchill following reports that a man had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found the victim with a single stab wound to his chest. He was treated at the scene by ambulance staff before being taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery.  He has since been discharged but shall receive ongoing care to aid his recovery. 

A 26 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A 23 year-old female has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.  They have been bailed until 25 June 2015 pending further police inquiries. 

Two men, aged 21 and 22, and two women, aged 45 and 25, were initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have been bailed until June 2015 pending further enquiries. 

Detective Inspector Gareth Davies said: “Although a number or arrests have been made, we are still keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened in the early hours of that morning. 

“The victim, although discharged from hospital, will still need ongoing care to help him recover and he has been mentally scarred by his ordeal. 

“If you do have information, no matter how insignificant you may feel it is, please call us”
