New manager announced for Wythenshawe Town FC

Wythenshawe Town FC have a new manager after it was announced Lee McGregor has quit the role.

Lee Bennett has been named as the new boss at Ericstan Park, taking over from McGregor who has stepped down to focus on playing for Wythenshawe this coming season, after leading the club to an incredible league championship and cup treble.

The club said: “Lee Bennett brings great experience to the club. Prior to joining WTFC, he has been Old Alts, Hindsford and Maine Road manager. He’ll be in charge for the club’s away match at Fleetwood Town XI and we’ll have more reactions from Lee Bennett & McGregor in the coming days.”

Club Chairman, Kenny Hope said: “Lee brings in the experience and knowledge we felt was required for the job. He’ll be the best replacement and the calibre of manager the club have attracted speaks wonders for the club’s personal stature. We look forward to even more successful times with the club.”

Lee McGregor’s assistants, Paul Williams  and Gary Brown have also stepped down and have left the club. The club has thanked them and wished them luck for the future.
