Armed robbers left empty handed after threatening terrified staff at a post office in Wythenshawe.
The robbers, armed with weapons, left empty handed from the post office in Peel Hall Road, after staff managed to lock themselves in a room at the back of the shop.
The incident happened at around 2.30pm on Wednesday 6 January 2015, when three offenders ran into the post office, threatened staff and demanded cash.
After staff fled to the back room, the robbers banged on the door demanding cash and made threats to a customer before leaving the shop.
They drove away in a black Mazda which had been stolen from the Sale area in December 2015. It was later found abandoned at the junction of Croftlands Road and Mayfair Road.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Detective Constable Tony Calvert said: “This appalling crime occurred during a busy time at a popular, small retail area. Fortunately no-one was injured, but the incident left the staff and customers in the shop at the time shocked. I would urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.”
