Man jailed for stabbing wife in campaign of abuse

A man who stabbed his former wife after subjecting her to a campaign of abuse has been jailed for 21 years.

Farhad Abdullah, aged 54, of no fixed address stole his former partner’s dog and assaulted her in the street because of how she was dressed before stabbing her with an ornamental dagger in Wythensawe in June 2018.

Today at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square he was sentenced to 21 years in prison after previously being found guilty of attempted murder.

He will be required to serve a further five years on licence after being released.

Domestic abuse survivors open new centre in Wythenshawe

A new centre aimed at supporting survivors of domestic abuse in Wythenshawe opens its  doors on Monday (February 1).

The Wythenshawe Safe  Spots community group formed last year will be based in the centre, to be opened by Greater Manchester Police Assistant Chief Constable Robert Potts.

Since its formation, the group has  already created safe spots across Wythenshawe.  And now, with the support of Greater Manchester Police, founding their own centre. Continue reading “Domestic abuse survivors open new centre in Wythenshawe”
