Newcastle United boss, Alan Pardew has praised Wythenshawe Amateurs FC after the club was awarded a £50,000 grant for new facilities.The Premiership manager who is an ambassador for Budweiser Club Futures, aimed at boosting non-league club facilities and finances, said Ammie’s bid for the grant was “outstanding”. FOOTBALL: Amateurs victory as Town lose in the cup

Wythenshawe Amateurs 1 – 0 AFC Monton

East Manchester  2 – 0  Wythenshawe Town

With most fixtures in the Premier League cancelled this week, Wythenshawe Amateurs took advantage as they continued their good run of form with a victory over AFC Monton.

Meanwhile Wythenshawe Town’s woes continued as their their second encounter with East Manchester resulted in a 2-0 defeat in the Gylchrist Cup.

Wythenshawe Town  1 – 2  AVRO

Wythenshawe Amateurs managed to salvage a point despite having three players sent off in a hard-fought encounter with Manchester Gregorians.

Matt Newell proved proved to be a wise substitution and got the goal for for Amateurs in the 80th minute.

Red cards were shown to Ashley Morley, Chris Howard and Mark Hughes but the Ammies put up a spirited fight to earn the point.

But Wythenshawe Town continued the poor form in the league with a  2-1 defeat at home to AVRO.
