Police are appealing for witnesses after 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Benchill, Wythenshawe.
At around 8.40pm on Tuesday 24 June 2014 police were called to Woodhouse Lane near to the junction of Overton Road after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle.
Officers attended and found that a 20-year-old man riding a Yamaha XJ600 motorcycle had lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete bollard at the side of the road.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have begun enquiries into the collision and are appealing for witnesses to contact the SCIU investigation team.
Police Constable Ian Beaumont said: “Our thoughts are with his family, who are understandably devastated by the tragic news.
“We have officers supporting them as best we can at this difficult time and are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full facts.
