Wythenshawe Hall becomes Hall of Sounds for budding young musicians

Budding young musicians will get the chance to write songs and play music this week as Brighter Sound delivers three days of sonic workshops at Wythenshawe Hall.

Anyone can attend the free workshops from Thursday July 31 to Saturday August 2 11am-4pm where there will be the chance to get involved with some local history, write songs and poetry, play music and create art with sounds; all working with professional artists and musicians.

Brighter Sound will also have a marquee at the Wythenshawe Games this week for young people to drop-in and try out some music equipment, beats, lyric writing and MCing.

Brighter Sound is a centre for music based in Manchester with a year round, cutting edge programme of workshops, projects, gigs and training for young people, adults and emerging musicians.

The project works with more than 500 young people each year who face social, personal and financial challenges, helping them to discover pathways forward, into education, training, work and as entrepreneurs.

Brighter Sound support emerging musicians through a programme of residencies, conferences, master classes and courses. Residency programmes are led by high calibre artists which have included The Unthanks, Arun Ghosh and the Grammy Award winning Snarky Puppy.
