Wythenshawe Town completed their year in style with an eight nil demolition of West Didsbury and Chorlton Reserves at Ericstan Park in the only game that beat the weather in Cheshire League 2 at the weekend.

Wythenshawe started slowly in the game as the visitors in the crossbar in the opening minutes, and they were made to rue that missed chance. The sloppy start came to a halt on 28 minutes when Ash Woodhead rifled home.

WTFC went into half-time 1-0 up against West, thanks to Woodhead’s opener.

Just 5 minutes into the second half the hosts had their 2nd goal when Ben Connolly fired in from the edge of the box. Then just 9 minutes later that lead was up to 3 when Ben Brooks slotted home to make it 3-0 after 59 minutes.

On 75 minutes, Ash Woodhead got his second of the game with a perfectly timed chip over the keeper and the 4 minutes later Jason Walley scored as well to make it 5-0. Brooks had his second a minute later to make it 6-0.

Wythenshawe weren’t done there, Ben Connolly got his second of the game on 84 minutes and there was still time for Remmi Williams to add his name to the score sheet when he bundled home the eighth goal.
