Four men have been arrested following an armed robbery at a shop in Northern Moor.
Shortly before 8.10pm on Tuesday 11 February 2015, three men wearing balaclavas – one of whom was brandishing a machete – entered the Spar on Moorcroft Road in the Northern Moor area of Manchester.
The men jumped over the counter, leaving the 45-year-old shop assistant fearing for her safety, and began emptying tobacco into bags they had brought with them before one of the offenders opened the till and removed the cash tray.
The men then left the store and the shopkeeper called the police.
Shortly afterwards the robbery, officers arrested four men on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.
The men remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Koran Sellars said: “This is still an active investigation so if anybody has any information then I would please urge them to contact the police.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
