Grappenhall Sports 0-9 Wythenshawe Town FC
Wythenshawe Town’s remarkable season continued today in its flamboyant style as they crushed Grappenhall Sports 9-0.
The win might not have seemed that surprising looking at the league table showing a 100 per cent record and an incredible 50 goals scored.
But today’s victory in the last group match of the JA Walton Challenge Cup was all the more impressive considering Grappenhall are in a league above them.
And there was no argument about which team was cut above as the visitors half time with a three goal lead thanks to strikes from Ash Woodhead, John Rand and Ben Brooks.
Wythenshawe continued in the same vein after the break with a second half hatrick from Jason Walley contributing to a fine day out for Town.
And with the final of the Manchester FA Amateur Cup to look forward to on May 4th, confidence is high that a ton of silverware could be coming Wythenshawe’s way by the end of the season.
