Men threaten staff with wine bottle in Brooklands shop robbery

Wythenshawe Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at McColl’s convenience store in Brooklands.

The shop  on Framingham Road in Brooklands was robbed by three men on Sunday January 10 at 9.40pm.

The three men entered the store and threatened staff with a wine bottle then stole cigarettes and the contents of both the till and the safe.

One of the men was described as stocky and wearing a dark grey hooded jumper. The second man is described as medium build, and wearing a ‘snowboarder style’ mask and a hooded jumper with “Nike Air Max” in white on the front. The third man is described as average build, with a hooded top with the draw strings pulled tight.

The men then made off in, what police believe was a red Mitsubishi 4×4. A vehicle matching the description has since been recovered.

There were no injuries.

Detective Sergeant Lee Attenborough from GMP’s Trafford Division said: “Fortunately no one was injured, although this was an extremely distressing encounter for the two staff members in the shop.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about this robbery or may have seen anything suspicious around this time to come forward and contact police.”
