Man charged with murder following death of toddler in Wythenshawe

A man is appearing in court today charged with murder following the death of a toddler in Wythenshawe last week.

Michael Wild, aged 28, of Somerton Avenue, Wythenshawe has been charged with murder and was due to appear before magistrates today.

At around 1.50pm on Sunday 21 January police were called by the ambulance service to Somerton Avenue to reports that a 22-month-old girl was having a medical episode.

Ella-Rose Clover died in hospital and detectives launched an investigation into her death after a post mortem revealed she had unexplained injuries.

Woman in court over death of toddler, James Chilvers

Chilvers-mark andrewsA woman is appearing in court today charged with the murder of toddler James Chilvers, who died in August last year.

Magdalena Lesicka, aged 31, of Beaford Road, Wythenshawe is due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 26 January 2018).

At about 12.05am on Sunday 27 August 2017, police were called to Beaford Road, Wythenshawe, to a report of a domestic incident. Upon arrival they discovered that a man and woman had left the address and gone to hospital.

When officers entered the property they found the body of a child who has since been formally identified as James Chilvers.

“Our beautiful Ella-Rose”: mum pays heartfelt tribute to tragic toddler

ella-roseThe mother of toddler, Ella-Rose Clover, who died in Wythenshawe, says her family’s world has been torn apart by the tragedy.

Ella-Rose, aged 22 months, died in hospital following reports of a medical episode at Somerton Avenue in Wythenshawe on Sunday afternoon.

In a heartfelt tribute to her daughter, Pagan Clover said: “Mine, my family and friend’s world has been torn apart by the loss of our beautiful Ella-Rose.

“Ella was the funniest, cheekiest and most lovable little girl and none of our lives will ever be the same again.

“We are broken beyond words and would ask that our privacy is respected at this most difficult time and we are allowed to grieve in peace.”

A post mortem examination revealed Ella had unexplained injuries and detectives have now launched an investigation into her death.

A man, aged 28, and a woman, 34, who were arrested on suspicion of murder remain in custody for questioning.
