Wythenshawe police make fresh appeal to catch thug who slashed man with knife

EVO-FITPolice have now released an E-fit of a man wanted in connection with a violent attempted robbery in Wythenshawe.

Shortly before midnight on Wednesday 25 June 2014, the victim was walking on Rudpark Road, Woodhouse Park when he was approached by a man. The man demanded cash from the victim, before punching him in the head and slashing him in the chest with a knife and running away towards the Peel estate.

The man is described as white, between 22 and 25-years-old, about 5ft 9in tall and was bearing a dark tracksuit with the hood up.

Detective Constable Lee Fisher from South Manchester Division said:

“This was a vicious attack on an innocent man, which resulted in the man having 13 stitches for a chest wound.

“We urge anyone who may have seen witnessed what happened or recognises the man in the E-fit to get in touch.”
