A man has been jailed over the death of popular off-duty Wythenshawe  police officer PC Gareth Francis, who was killed by a single punch after a night out to celebrate his birthday.

Westley Holland, aged 21, of Laburnum Way, Stockport, was jailed for four and a half years after a jury found him guilty of manslaughter following a trial  at Manchester Crown Court.

Fears grow for safety of missing boy with links to Wythenshawe

Concern: Police say Shaequan has changed his hairstyle since this picture was taken

Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of a 10-year-old boy missing from a care home for more than two days.

Shaequan Farquarson,  who has connections in the Wythenshawe area, was last seen running away from the care home in Lancashire on Saturday.
