Stone OA 2 – 1 Wythenshawe Amateurs

Vauxhall Motors 1 – 1 Wythenshawe Town

It was honours even for Wythenshawe Town today when they visited Vauxhall Motors and Amateurs suffered an away defeat to Stone Old Alleynians.

Six minutes of injury time was Town’s undoing as they led 1-0 until an unfortunate own goal in the dying minutes of the game.

Stone led from a penalty in the first before extending their lead and Amateurs snatched one back. Despite some valiant efforts including an attempt which struck the woodwork, Stone managed to hold on to their lead to take the points.

St Martins FC 0 – 4 Wythenshawe Amateurs

There were goals galore this weekend as both Wythenshawe clubs clocked up impressive wins.

Town entertained Stone Dominoes and took an early lead with Sam Heathcote scoring in the fifth minute.

Brad Byrne doubled Town’s lead after a defensive mix-up in the 27th minute and he added  a third just before half-time.

Ammies  were away to St Martins and bagged their first goal after 14 minutes. They were gifted a second after half time from a back pass.

The best opportunity for the hosts came  as the ball bounced around the box and a shot taken a few yards out but there’s was  not enough power to beat the Wythenshawe keeper who dealt with it comfortably.

And the visitors added another two to their tally to round off a perfect afternoon for the club.

 

FOOTBALL: Ammies win again

ammiesIt was a good day for Wythenshawe football today as Amateurs secured a 3-1 victory away to Eccleshall.

Goal action came in the second half with a brace from James and Bradley Carr pulled one back for the home side before Kieron Malloy added a third for the visitors five minutes before the whistle.

Ammies are now second in the league, a point behind leaders Abbey Hulton. They will next face Stone Old Alleynians in a fortnight at Hollyhedge Park

FOOTBALL: Stunning win for Town while Ammies suffer defeat

untitledThere were very mixed fortunes for Wythenshawe’s football clubs this weekend, with Amateurs throwing away a two goal lead to suffer defeat and Town notching up double figures in an incredible goal-fest.

Wythenshawe Town shrugged off a mid-week defeat to Avro to win 11-3 away to Eccleshall in what turned out to be a stunning performance.

FOOTBALL: Wythenshawe Amateurs demolish Dukinfield

Wythenshawe Amateurs 4 – 0 Dukinfield Town

Wythenshawe Amateurs earned a decisive victory in a game with delivered a dominant performance in the second half from the home side.

There were three clear cut opportunities for the Ammies inside the first 15 minutes, at the Dream Arena,which couldn’t be converted.

But in the 26th minute Pat O’Brien made no mistake collecting the ball on the right and hitting a left foot shot to put Wythenshawe ahead.

O’Brien could have doubled his tally two minutes later, Joel Aikenhead won the ball in midfield found O’Brien’s head but his header just over.

With a 1-0 half time lead Ammies went on the attack from the off,  with a Wrightfree kick from his favourite position denied by the goal keeperagain by Mills.

On the hour mark, Wythenshawe got their second from a Dolan free kick from 30 yards into the far corner.

Ten minutes later it was game over when Rico Colulo won the ball put in a cross from the right to the far post which was met by Wright’s head.

And with three minutes remaining Luke Hibbert was blocked by Mills again but this time slotted the rebound past him to make it 4-0.
