Wythenshawe MP Paul Goggins dies after suffering stroke

gogginsWythenshawe MP Paul Goggins, who suffered a stroke while out running with his son last week, has died in hospital.

Mr Goggins,aged 60, who represented Wythenshawe and Sale East since 1997, collapsed on December 30 near his home.

His wife Wyn and family  were at his bedside last night when he passed away at Salford Royal Hospital last night (January 7).

The news was released in a statement from Wythenshawe and Sale East Labour Party Chairman, Cllr Paul Andrews.

The statement said: “Paul Goggins passed away in hospital in Salford last night. His family were at his side and are very grateful for the messages of support that have been sent in over the last week.”
